Japanese Gas Giant Invests €50 Million in New Air Separation Unit
On October 22, Nippon Gases, the European operation of Nippon Sanso Holdings Corporation, inaugurated a new air separation unit in Caserta, Southern Italy. This industrial site represents a strategic milestone in the Japanese group's growth plan for Italy.
Developed by the Japanese parent company, Nippon Sanso Holdings Corporation, this plant is the first of its kind in Italy utilizing air separation technology designed to produce industrial gases by separating the primary components of air, such as oxygen and nitrogen.
Since the group's entry into the Italian market, it has invested over €340 million, with approximately €50 million dedicated to the construction of the Caserta facility, a project initiated in 2021 during the pandemic.
Currently, about ten specialized technical staff work at the plant, consistent with its high technological level. As the plant's production capacity increases, so does the supply of industrial and medical gases in Southern Italy, with a anticipated positive indirect impact on the local area through the supply chain.
