U.S. Helium Project Enters Critical Phase!

2025-12-16

U.S. Helium Project Enters Critical Phase! On December 11, Australia-based Quantum Helium announced an additional stake increase in its Sagebrush helium project in Colorado, USA. The company acquired a 7.5% working interest from U.S. energy firm Jackal Oil Company for $85,000, raising its ownership from 82.5% to 90%. Quantum Helium, formerly known as Mosman Oil and Gas Ltd, is an energy company focused on the exploration and development of helium, hydrogen, and hydrocarbons. Buoyed by the positive news, its share price rose by 3% to 0.027 pence. The remaining 10% interest in the project is held by CEO Howard McLaughlin. This increased stake further strengthens the company’s control over the project ahead of the upcoming production testing of the Sagebrush-1 well. Drilling and casing operations for the well have been completed, and final approvals for long-term flow testing are underway, with testing expected to commence early next year. The 3D seismic survey for the Sagebrush project is also nearing completion, with preliminary results anticipated in January. These will be used to refine geological models and future well planning, and will be integrated with the Coyote Wash 3D data, laying the groundwork for the company’s drilling and development plans in 2026.

This series of developments clearly indicates that global helium resource projects are progressing from exploration and evaluation into the critical phase of production testing and commercial development. As projects like Sagebrush gradually move toward production, safe, efficient, and cost-effective gas storage and initial transportation solutions will become the primary link connecting production sites to the market. As a reliable partner in the global high-value gas storage and transportation sector, NETC aluminum alloy gas cylinders provide essential infrastructure support for the commercial output of helium resources and the establishment of initial supply chains, thanks to their exceptional purity retention, safety, reliability, and flexible adaptability.

Helium, as a strategic rare gas indispensable in cutting-edge technology and medical fields, derives its value heavily from purity and supply security. During the production testing and early commercial output stages, ensuring that the produced gas maintains high purity and avoids loss or contamination during collection, temporary storage, and short-distance transportation is crucial to determining project economics and product competitiveness. NETC’s aluminum alloy gas cylinders, specially designed for such high-purity gas applications, are manufactured from high-quality AA6061 aluminum alloy. Through special internal surface treatment processes, they feature ultra-clean, highly sealed, inert inner walls that minimize gas adsorption and permeation. They serve as an ideal “temporary storage chamber” for helium from wellhead collection to entry into refining or distribution processes, effectively preserving resource value.

Given the long development cycles and fluctuating initial output characteristic of resource projects, storage and transportation solutions need to combine reliability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. NETC aluminum alloy gas cylinders strictly comply with authoritative international certification standards such as DOT 3AL and ISO 7866, ensuring their products are compliant for use in North America and other major markets. The cylinders offer a wide range of working pressures and capacities covering various specifications from 1L to 50L, enabling flexible adaptation to multiple scenarios such as on-site test sampling, small-scale gas gathering, and modular transportation. Their notably lightweight and high-strength characteristics make them particularly suitable for safe and convenient handling in field operations and complex logistics conditions, providing exploration and development companies with a reliable, ready-to-use local storage and transportation option.

As a trusted partner in the global gas industry, NETC continues to monitor and support the enhancement of global supply chains for strategic resources such as helium. We understand that every step from resource exploration to stable supply is critical. As multiple helium projects worldwide enter production testing and development planning phases, NETC remains committed to its promise of “Unwavering Quality.” We will continue to provide high-performance, high-safety aluminum alloy gas cylinder products, empowering resource development companies. Together, we will contribute solid technical and infrastructural foundations to enhancing the stability and resilience of global helium supply, supporting the development of key sectors such as semiconductors, medical MRI, and frontier scientific research.
