Air Liquide Invests €130 Million in Singapore Semiconductor Project
September 30, 2025 - According to foreign media reports, global industrial gas leader Air Liquide has announced a €130 million investment to construct two advanced air separation units (ASUs) in Singapore, supporting the expansion plans of a local semiconductor manufacturer.
These units will specifically produce ultra-high purity nitrogen, a gas crucial in chip manufacturing processes for equipment and production chamber cleaning, as well as protecting chip components from contamination. Additionally, the ASUs will be equipped with advanced automation and predictive maintenance technologies to enhance production efficiency and operational reliability.

In June this year, the Group also announced plans to build a new industrial gas production facility at the Tampines Wafer Fabrication Park in Singapore, with an investment of €70 million. Hongguang Semiconductor is a joint venture between Taiwan's Wanchao International Semiconductor and Netherlands' NXP Semiconductors, currently investing $10.5 billion to build a 300mm wafer fabrication plant in Singapore, expected to begin operations in 2027.
