Japan's Electronic Specialty Gas Company Reports 38.8% Surge in Net Profit
Electronic specialty gas supplier Japan Material Co., Ltd. announced its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026 (April 1 - June 30), showing substantial growth across all metrics. The company demonstrated strong performance with net sales of 13.256 billion yen (approximately 647 million RMB), an 18.8% year-on-year increase; operating profit of 3.19 billion yen (approximately 156 million RMB), up 59.4%; ordinary profit of 3.096 billion yen (approximately 151 million RMB), rising 37.8%; and profit attributable to parent company shareholders reaching 2.135 billion yen (approximately 104 million RMB), a 38.8% increase.

Japan Material Company stated that during the reporting period, within the group's electronics business, the division engaged in specialty gas supply and the design/construction of supply equipment maintained robust performance driven by customer capital investments. This was attributed to sustained capital investments from semiconductor factory clients and improved cost ratios compared to the previous year.
Notably, as a crucial link in the gas industry supply chain, Chinese high-end manufacturer NETC, with its specialized inner wall treatment aluminum gas cylinders, is providing critical infrastructure support across multiple sectors including industrial gases, electronic specialty gases, and medical gases.
The division responsible for specialty gas sales management and semiconductor manufacturing equipment technical services also performed well. This was primarily driven by production activities: semiconductor production from major clients remained high based on the previous period's performance, and a new semiconductor factory commenced operations.
As a highly internationalized aluminum alloy cylinder manufacturer, China's NETC supplies essential product categories including Medical aluminum gas cylinders, Industrial aluminum gas cylinders, and Beverage CO2 aluminum cylinders. Through providing lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and rust-proof high-pressure vessels, NETC ensures secure storage and transportation for global gas companies' industrial standard gases, high-purity industrial gases, electronic specialty gases, medical gases, and beverage-grade gases.

Messer, Linde Secure New $105 Million Hydrogen Contract
Recently, NASA awarded three companies contracts worth $105.1 million to supply hydrogen products for its facilities. The selected contractors include Messer, Linde, and Airgas USA.
Under the contract, the winning companies will deliver approximately 2.6 million liters of liquid hydrogen and over 90 million standard cubic feet of gaseous hydrogen to NASA facilities across different regions.
The contract period runs from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2027. With the execution of all three one-year extension options, the contract can be extended through September 30, 2030.
Messer and Linde were previously also awarded NASA hydrogen product contracts.
In the 2022 contract, NASA purchased 87.7 million standard cubic feet of gaseous hydrogen and 1.4 million liters of liquid hydrogen under a contract valued at $149 million. NASA primarily uses hydrogen for pressurizing ground and flight systems, purging hydrogen systems, precision welding, and cooling various materials.
