POSCO Holdings has strategically acquired specialty gas companies with a 4 billion KRW investment.
According to the quarterly report released on the 13th, POSCO Holdings strategically acquired 100% of Chemgas Korea and 40% of FEM for 81.7 billion KRW, aiming to expand its specialty gas product portfolio. FEM is a company that produces and supplies specialty gases and chemical materials for semiconductors, primarily manufacturing germane (GeH₄), disilane (Si₂H₆), and process materials for semiconductor wafer etching and cleaning. To purify rare gases produced at POSCO's oxygen plants to 99.999% high purity and supply them to semiconductor companies such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Intel, POSCO Holdings has been collaborating with Zhongtai since December 2023 to advance the construction of a high-purity rare gases plant.
