On October 29, Air Liquide officially launched its new Large Modular Air (LMA) separation unit, the Geismar 4 plant, in Geismar, Louisiana, USA. This new facility marks an important milestone in Air Liquide’s operations in North America, representing a substantial increase in the company’s production capacity along the U.S. Gulf Coast. It is designed to support the region’s expanding industrial base. The Geismar 4 LMA plant is one of three large modular air separation units constructed by Air Liquide in Louisiana. The project stems from a major investment of over $270 million announced in 2019 to fulfill a new long-term supply agreement with Methanex, a global leader in methanol production, supporting the expansion of its Geismar facility. Currently, Air Liquide and its subsidiary Airgas operate 56 facilities with over 550 employees in Louisiana, reinforcing the company’s localized presence in the region and demonstrating strong growth prospects for the industrial sector along the Mississippi River and the Gulf Coast.
