Japanese gas major Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG) announced on November 24 that it has secured a significant contract from Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc. (MATHESON, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Sanso Holdings Corporation) to build an air separation unit in Las Vegas, Nevada, with completion scheduled for 2027. The new facility will produce oxygen, nitrogen, and argon to meet the growing demand for liquid gases in the medical, manufacturing, construction, and food processing industries across Nevada, California, Utah, and Arizona. Concurrently, Nikkiso CE&IG will extract liquid nitrogen from this air separation unit for use at its nearby Las Vegas pump manufacturing plant to test the performance of cryogenic pumps before their deployment and installation.
